Top 10 Furniture and Homeware Retailers That Use Salesforce Commerce Cloud

There’s no place like home. But how do you make a house a home? You personalize it with snug sofas and rugged carpets, coffee tables and bookcases, king-size mattresses and wall art. And where do we go to make our house or apartment a home? We head to the closest furniture store and homeware retailer — whether it’s a car ride to the store or a deep dive online on the website.

Top 10 Furniture and Homeware Retailers That Use Salesforce Commerce CloudFurniture and homeware retailers have been keen adopters of ecommerce in recent years and are acutely aware of its advantages since the first half of 2020 as national and regional lockdowns have been preventing consumers getting to the store and checking out products.

This particular sector of the economy is distinguished by its selling of large items like sofas and dining tables that make it difficult to scale and image them situated in the home. The adoption of augmented reality for ecommerce has come as a huge leverage for customers when it comes to imagining furniture and homeware from the store in the home.

But not all ecommerce platforms have the capability for hosting such advanced tech, or are able to pull it off effectively. One platform that pulls off augmented reality very well, and displays them in smooth and exciting experiences, is Salesforce Commerce Cloud. So it’s no wonder that some of the best furniture and homeware retailers are hosting their sites on SFCC. So let’s take a look at the top 10.

1. Furniture Village

The British furniture retailer operates 50 stores as well as sells online, and is the largest privately-owned furniture chain in the UK. Furniture Village focuses on the quality of products over the cheapness of price. At the beginning of the year, Furniture Village reported an increase of 1.2% in its sales, reaching £265.2 million

When it needed an upgrade to its ecommerce system stretching across desktop, tablet and mobile, Furniture Village implemented Salesforce Commerce Cloud to over 15 systems, to feature big ticket products and allow for trading control and back-end integrations.

2. Slumberland

This furniture retailer sells in over 100 stores and online, and recorded $237 million in revenue. But they needed something different to reach the next level. They needed something that could strengthen their digital channels; that could scale and host a redesign with highly engaging experiences. And that is why they turned to SFCC to host their website and optimize their ecommerce.

3. Serena & Lily

Located in California, Serena & Lily provides luxury homeware and generates approximately $20 million in sales. It is currently growing its ecommerce strategy that is focussed on optimization and building the brand online through hosting their site on Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

4. Poppin

As one of New York’s fastest-growing businesses, Poppin knows that in order to cater to both B2B and B2C operations it needs a website that is capable of delivering very different experiences for those wanting to buy office supplies and furniture.

With their products used in over 20,000 offices and 3,000 retail locations, Poppin found that SF Commerce Cloud was the natural fit, which provided a massive jump in functionality and performance.

5. Ethan Allen

With a presence in 300 locations spread across the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia, Ethan Allen is 8 years shy of its centenary.

The US furniture chain leverages SF Commerce Cloud to empower their customers to create their own personalized styles on their site with an injection of artificial intelligence.

6. MacKenzie-Childs

The handpainted furniture and manufacturer of ceramics is based in New York but sells across the country as well as internationally. Founded in 1983, MacKenzie-Childs uses Salesforce Commerce Cloud to display its diverse collection of products, from bowls and teacups to cabinets and seats.

7. Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams

The home furnishings company of Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams is HQ’d in North Carolina, and wanted to reach beyond the user experience and knock down the boundaries of creativity. So they integrated their ecommerce operations into a platform that expands creativity: Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

The comfy store chain specializing in — you guessed it — mattresses has been around for 34 years. In fact, it’s the country’s largest specialty mattress and bedding retailer. 9. Sur la Table

Based in Seattle, Washington, Sur la Table provides a wide array of products from outdoor grills to wine cellars, yet it’s primary focus is on kitchenware. Located in 184 stores spread out across 32 states, its ecommerce website provides smooth and simple product experiences.

10. Floor & Decor

The multi-channel speciality retailer of hard surface flooring captured $2.5 billion in revenue in 2019.
