There’s no place like home. But how do you make a house a home? You personalize it with snug sofas and rugged carpets, coffee tables and bookcases, king-size mattresses and wall art. And where do we go to make our house or apartment a home? We head to the closest furniture store and homeware retailer — whether it’s a car ride to the store or a deep dive online on the website.
Furniture and homeware retailers have been keen adopters of ecommerce in recent years and are acutely aware of its advantages since the first half of 2020 as national and regional lockdowns have been preventing consumers getting to the store and checking out products.
This particular sector of the economy is distinguished by its selling of large items like sofas and dining tables that make it difficult to scale and image them situated in the home. The adoption of augmented reality for ecommerce has come as a huge leverage for customers when it comes to imagining furniture and homeware from the store in the home.
But not all ecommerce platforms have the capability for hosting such advanced tech, or are able to pull it off effectively. One platform that pulls off augmented reality very well, and displays them in smooth and exciting experiences, is Salesforce Commerce Cloud. So it’s no wonder that some of the best furniture and homeware retailers are hosting their sites on SFCC. So let’s take a look at the top 10.
The British furniture retailer operates 50 stores as well as sells online, and is the largest privately-owned furniture chain in the UK. When it needed an upgrade to its ecommerce system stretching across desktop, tablet and mobile, Furniture Village implemented Salesforce Commerce Cloud to over 15 systems, to feature big ticket products and allow for trading control and back-end integrations.
