The ecommerce platform Shopify has announced that it is partnering with a group of ERP providers to offer direct integrations with the Shopify App Store.
This is set to allow for a more seamless connection between data-driven decisions and workflows.
More than 10,000 Shopify merchants use Shopify Plus to handle their business complexity and volume. They include Heinz, Lord & Taylor, Schwinn, and Allbirds.
Shopify’s new enterprise resource planning program, the Global ERP Program, is going to provide them with a highly centralized system that can fuse their ecommerce with rich financial and inventory data.
Getting access to a suite of apps directly integrated with the ecommerce platform, it removes the need for merchants to rely on third-party implementations when it comes to connecting ERP resources.
They can connect their ERP solutions instantly for NetSuite, Acumatica, Infor, and Brightpearl to their Shopify storefront.
“We are here to make it easier for anyone with an idea and ambition to launch a business,” said Shopify president Harley Finkelstein. “Entrepreneurship is thriving, and trends like omnichannel shopping and direct-to-consumer selling offer even greater opportunities.”
In addition to this, there will be another integration that will be available from early 2022, which is an integration with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
“At a time when merchants need to harness data everywhere to transform the shopping experience, we’re excited to connect data between ERP and commerce,” said Charles Lamanna, VP of Microsoft Business Applications and Platform. “Innovation begins with data-fueled insights, and more connected operations will help merchants take the industry into the future.”
Speaking about its new Global ERP Program, Shopify’s VP, Mark Bergen, said: “At Shopify, we support businesses during all stages of their journeys, from first sale to full scale. Regardless of their size, maturity or complexity, merchants can thrive and grow with confidence on Shopify.”
Ultimately, Shopify’s Global ERP Program is its latest move to build its suite of services that it offers its customers – expanding on Shopify Capital, Shopify Fulfillment, Shopify Payments, and Shopify Shipping.
