One of the more underrated aspects of the ecommerce experience is the humble search box function. According to Forrester Research, just under half (43%) of all digital visitors head straight towards the search box. And importantly, those that search are 2-3 more likely to go all the way to purchase.

That packs a lot of power into the ever-present rectangular box at the top of a website.

Search Stronger: Hawksearch Integrates with Salesforce Commerce CloudThere are ecommerce platforms that come with standard search capabilities, such as Magento, that uses its algorithms to guesstimate the most relevant products, then there are some ecommerce platforms that provide customizable search functionality, such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud, that allows you to include or exclude words from the title or product description; prioritize or boost certain results; and control whether to allow the autocorrect function is applied or not.

Beyond Salesforce Commerce Cloud’s out-of-the-box capabilities, the leading ecommerce platform is boosted by a universe of integrations (or “cartridges” as Salesforce enjoys calling them). And recently the platform got a boost to its search box capabilities thanks to Hawksearch, a search and recommendation platform that powers a number of big-sized businesses.

Over at Hawksearch, they’re pretty happy about the news. “We are excited to launch our integration on AppExchange and provide retailers the opportunity to maximize the conversion of their site visitors,” said Michael Benedict, General Manager of Hawksearch.

“Hawksearch was built upon the mission of providing personalized and relevant shopping experiences and this integration goes hand in hand with that vision.”

More specifically, Hawksearch provides companies with the latest tools, such as personalisation, to modify the search experience of online users in order to display the most accurate results – across languages, devices, and platforms.
