Can you Create Promotions with Salesforce Commerce Cloud?

Can you create promotions with Salesforce Commerce Cloud?

Answer

At the core of marketing is the promotion of the business in the attempt to drive up sales. And a key tool for this is to provide promotions on your products, to entice customers and increase sales.

Of course, Salesforce Commerce Cloud has the functionality to do this, so you can create your own product promotions. Within the ecommerce platform, you can set the rules that define the various types of promotions, conditions, and discounts, which can be customized with your own attributes to target your highly specific business needs and goals.

Can you create promotions with Salesforce Commerce Cloud? And the ability to create promotions is not limited to only the products themselves. You are also able to set order promotions and shipping promotions.

Utilize order promotions to configure a percentage discount on an order, a fixed price discount, or offer a bonus product, or provide the choice of a bonus product. You can also create more complex promotions, for example, buy 3 products within a specific category and get 20% off the entire order. In addition, you can set promotions based on a minimum price of combined items, for example, if you spend $100 or more then you will receive a 10% discount.

Utilize product promotions to provide percentage discounts on a product, a fixed price discount, and bonuses on multiple products, compared with order promotions that only enable one bonus product.

It is important to remember that an order promotion is calculated at the order level, and applied once, whereas for product promotions, it is calculated per product.

Can you create promotions with Salesforce Commerce Cloud? Then there are shipping promotions, which are applied to an order’s shipping charges. And notice that all shipping orders apply for the specific methods that you set.

An important piece of information to note here is that when you delete a product, category, or shipping method — for whatever reason, perhaps you have run out of a certain product, or stop promoting shipping discounts — any promotion that is attached does not get deleted. And so you will also need to go into your promotions and delete them, as well as the particular product, category, or shipping method.
